Sylvio Anthony Alaimo April 20, 1926-Jan. 28, 2010 Sylvio served in the Navy during World War II. He was on board the PCE843 from 1944-1946. He was in the second Halsey typhoon in the Philippine sea in 1945 and helped commandeer the ship from turning over from 60 foot waves. Sylvio helped form the Helpers Union for Pacific Manufacturing Company in Santa Clara. He worked in the door business for over 40 years. Sylvio is survived by his wife, Grace Alaimo; and his son Anthony Alaimo. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine. Services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara. Arrangements by BEDDINGFIELD FUNERAL SERVICE (408) 777-8100.
