Obituary Condolences

Suzanne Chelemer Resident of Badalona, Spain On March 8, Suzanne Chelemer, 57, passed away in her home in Badalona, Spain as a result of diabetic complications. She had dealt with the difficulties of child-onset Type-1 diabetes since the age of 12. She will be dearly missed by her two sisters, Sandra Chelemer, now of Denver, CO and Cheryl Chelemer of Milpitas, CA as well as her loving daughter Kendra and Spanish family Ricard and Javier Mirabet of Badalona, together with her many friends and family in the SJ-SF Bay Area. She is predeceased by her mother Vivian, her father Samuel and her brother David, also a Type-I diabetic. Suzanne was tenured at the University of Barcelona, Spain and enjoyed a fruitful life. Before moving to Spain, Suzy thrived in the Santa Clara Valley with her childhood/high school/college friends and then raised a cherished daughter, taught students English and enjoyed the Mediterranean community of Barcelona, her home for the last 25 years. She lived life with gusto and never let her illness keep her from enjoying all that it had to offer. She will be laid to rest in Badalona on Friday so she will be close to her daughter forever. If you wish, contributions in remembrance can be made to The Diabetes Society of Santa Clara County in her name.
