Donna Mae

(Peterson) Peretz

Formerly of

Niantic, Connecticut

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1st. Since 2007, Donna and her loving husband, Samuel, made their home in Morgan Hill, California with their daughter Kim Peretz-Mok, son-in-law David Mok and grandson Chandler.

Born March 18, 1940 in New Britain, Connecticut to Morgan and Alice Peterson, Donna was a 1958 graduate of New Britain High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and Tri-Hi-Y. After graduation, Donna worked for a division of Pratt & Whitney before marrying the love of her life, Samuel. She and her husband enjoyed 51 years of marriage together. Over the last twenty-five years, and especially since retirement, they enjoyed winter vacations in Palm Desert, California with their niece Joyce and her family.

Donna's talents and interests were many. She shared her love of dance as a tap and ballet instructor in New Britain and Annapolis, Maryland. After she and her husband returned to Connecticut from Annapolis, Donna continued working outside the home at AT&T. She later was employed as a manager at Mitchell's Markets and then at Smith's Pharmacy in Niantic, Connecticut. Known as a smart, hard-working woman with a friendly smile, Donna's dedication always shone through but never brighter than in her lifelong vocation as wife and mother.

Besides her family in California, Donna leaves behind a son and two daughters: Todd Peretz and wife Denise, Karen Rak and husband Michael, and Robin Neff and husband, all of Niantic, Connecticut. She was predeceased by both of her parents and her sister Beverly Wennberg of Southington, Connecticut. Donna's loss is felt by friends and family, especially her sisters Penny Nadile (brother-in-law Bob) of Meriden, Connecticut; Cheryl Parsons (brother-in-law Bob) of Forestville, Connecticut; Debbie Peterson (fianc‚ Nelson Martin) of Newington, Connecticut; and her brother-in-law Harry "Oke" Wennberg of Southington, Connecticut. Donna will also be missed by her ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her many caring nieces and nephews.
