Brigit Brat
Resident of Mountain View
47, passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2011. She graduated in 1982 from Hudson Falls High School and served in the US Navy. She composed, performed and recorded music as one-woman band, God's Girlfriend. She designed and built specialty guitars for herself and other entertainers. She was currently enrolled in Foothill College. She is survived by mother Gloria Gilman of Hudson Falls NY, siblings Nancy Gilman of Queensbury NY, Lorraine Gilman of Boston MA, Brian Gilman of East Northport NY. She will be fondly remembered by long time friend RC Williams, companion Gia Deland and many loving friends.
Funeral services will be private and at a later date.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to www.itgetsbetter.org.

I'm an author from Melbourne Australia and wanting to write a book about Brigit.
Trouble is, it's hard tracking down people who knew her, some have passed away, some don't want to talk and some are just damn hard to find!

Brigit was a true freak (in a good way) and a fantastic musician! She was was always kind no matter what was going on i1n her life. It was an absolute pleasure to have known her. Love ya. Glad she is remembered by many and we were all affected in a positive way. Miss ya lady.

I was blessed to know Brigit beyond God's Girlfriend. She was a friend, a confidant, a coffee/smoke buddy, a bright light faerie child who helped make Sunday nights with X-Files and Sopranos and ... whatever very, very special. Our introduction was marked by me offering her much-needed energy healing which allowed her to sleep for the first time in days.
I may have met God's Girlfriend, but I got to know Brigit, bright light and shining soul.
Many blessings on your next journey, Brigit. The world's a bit duller today.

During the course of life, you occassionally meet an individual whose presence and memory shines more brightly than others. Brigit was one such person. She was a dear friend of mine for many years. No matter how much time passed between communication, we shared a very special connection that I will never forget - one that I will greatly miss. I remember Brigit from years back, but I still remember her passion for life, music and most of all her friends. If you were a friend of hers she would bend over backwards for you.
