Ella Mary (Murphy) Peacock

Resident of Cupertino

Ella (Ellen), beloved wife and mother, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.

Ellen was born November 2, 1925 in Portland, Oregon to the late John Vincent Murphy and Josephyne Thatcher Murphy.

She graduated from The Academy of the Holy Child High School in Portland, Oregon in 1943 and from The University of Texas-Galveston with her nursing degree in 1948. Ellen worked as a pediatric nurse in the San Francisco area for several years.

After Ellen and Howard (Bud) Oswald Peacock married in 1952 they moved to San Francisco later settling in Cupertino, CA where they lived for over 30 years. It was in Cupertino that Ellen and Bud raised their four sons, John, Chris, Vincent and Kevin.

Ellen was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Cupertino where she taught Catechism for several years. Ellen and Bud were also active members of the Kona Kai Swim & Racquet Club.

Ellen is survived by her sons, John and his wife, Ann, Chris and his wife Linda, Phoenix, AZ; son Vincent, San Jose, CA; son Kevin, Marina, CA; grandchildren, Alexis Peacock, Scottsdale, AZ; Kevin Peacock, Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Alex Murphy, Seattle,WA; Fr. Jack Murphy, Portland, OR. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband "Bud", two brothers, Paul and Harry, and sister, Betty Jo.

A memorial service for Ellen Mary (Murphy) Peacock will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 7, at Golden Gate National Cemetery, 1300 Sneath Lane, San Bruno, CA. Deacon Rusty Duffey, will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established in Ellen's name at Hospice of the Valley at 1510 E. Flower St, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
