Resident of San Jose
Vivian passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family. A San Francisco native, she graduated from Commerce HS in 1942. Flying lessons led to an excursion below the Golden Gate Bridge, bringing an abrupt end to an aviation career! Vivian's early athletiscism included ice skating and tennis. In 1951 she married Henry (Hank) Lang; in addition to raising a family she returned to school in Berkeley and earned her nursing licensce (LVN), which she fondly defined as,
'Lovely, Vivacious, Nurse'. Viv worked at various San Jose Hospitals, including Valley Medical Center and O'Connor Hospital. She further developed herself into a Director of Nursing, teaching many the profession. An eternal optimist, Vivian always saw the best in people and found the good in all situations.Vivian is preceded in death by her husband Hank; brothers Ivan (Carmen), Earl (Emily), Gordon (Josephine) and Charles; her son, George; and her daughter Janice Conlon. Vivian is survived by her daughter, Jeanne (Dr. Paul Reynolds), daughter-in-law, Susan, sisters-in-law, Trudy Pollick, Grace Jackson Florence Lang, brother-in-law Ernest Lang and numerous cousins, nieces nephews. She leaves behind her 11 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. A Vigil Rosary service will be held on Friday, 12/9 from 5-9 PM, at Chapel of the Hills in Los Gatos; the funeral will be at St. Lucy's Church in Campbell on Saturday 12/10 at 9:00 AM, followed by a burial at Los Gatos Memorial Park. All who knew Vivian are welcome.
