Vincent (Vince) William Svedise|
Resident of San Bruno
A native of San Francisco, California, born and raised in North Beach, and was a resident of San Bruno for 51 years. He passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Monday, December 31, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Vince grew up in the North Beach district of San Francisco. He was drafted into the US Army and served during WWII in the 79th infantry as a medic. After the war he returned to San Francisco upon which time he met his wife Angelina and they were married in 1950. Together they had four children. Vince founded Vince's Shellfish, a successful wholesale fish company still operated by the family today. Vince was a longtime member of the San Bruno Lions Club and the San Mateo Elks Club.
Vince was preceded in death by his beloved wife Angelina Svedise of 53 years, his loving parents Anna and Cristoforo Svedise, sister Mary Marino, and brothers Salvatore, Joseph, and Ignatius Svedise.
Vince was a wonderful father and is survived by his children Anna Loftus (Dave), Christopher Svedise (Donna), Rosanna Wieland (Tim), Jeanette Wild (Neil). He is also survived by his sisters Anne Talone and Albina Bellante. He was the cherished Nanu of Rose (Brian), Christina (Ian), Jennifer (Marc), George (Heather), Vince, Thomas (Stacy), Sal, Michael, Gena (Vittorio), Kevin, Kyle, Tony, and Jonathan. Great-grandfather to Addison, Dylan, Angelina, Sofia, Dante, Dominic, and baby Kaiden on the way. Uncle of Anthony (Susan), Nicholas (Gloria), and Joseph. Great uncle of Nicky, Joey, Stephen, and Francesca in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit after 6:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2013 and to attend the 7:00 PM Vigil Service both at St. Robert's Catholic Church, 1380 Crystal Springs Road, San Bruno. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 10:30 AM at St. Robert's Church. Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
