Russell Dyer Gentner Resident of Los Gatos Russell Dyer Gentner, 92, of Los Gatos passed away peacefully Friday morning, December 28, 2012. Born in Passaic, NJ, March 16, 1920, Son of the late Godfrey and Agnes Gentner. He served in the United States Army during WWII in both the European and Pacific theaters. Upon his discharge at the conclusion of the war, he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and lived in Fair Lawn, NJ. After graduating he worked at Curtiss Wright Corporation. He was active in the Fair Lawn Elks Club. While living in Fair Lawn he also built a beach house with his brother in Barnegat Light on the NJ shore and had many enjoyable times there. In 1967 he married June DeGraff and they lived in Los Gatos. After their marriage Russ worked at General Electric in San Jose until his retirement. Russ was active in the Willow Glen American Legion, Los Gatos Elks Club, and GE Retirees Organization holding several leadership positions. Russ was an avid bowler, enjoyed gardening and volunteer work. Russ was predeceased by his elder brother, Donald, of Phoenix, AZ, and younger brother, Robert of Delmar, NY. Survivors include his wife June of Sunnyvale, CA, niece Sally Anne Straceski of Phoenix, AZ, nephew, Robert T. Gentner of Voorheesville, NY, and several grand nephews and a niece. A private service was held on January 4, 2013 at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
