Letitia (Tish) was the daughter of Lee and Caroline Showen and grew up in Sunnyvale where she attended Homestead HS. She earned a degree in Recreation Studies from SJSU and served in the Peace Corps in Venezuela. She taught English as a second language locally and in the SJ sister city Okayama with Pacific Neighbors.
