With deepest sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Catherine Puzar Smith, 54, on Friday, April 19, 2013.
Mary is survived by her only daughter, Meagan Nichole Smith of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her parents Joseph and Virginia Puzar of Cupertino, CA, her sister Margaret White (Stanley) of Santa Clara, CA, and her 4 brothers: James of San Jose, CA, Robert of Lincoln, CA, John of Austin, TX, and Michael (Lisa) of Rocklin, CA. She was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Mary was born on February 1, 1959 in Northridge, CA. Mary was a graduate of Cupertino High School, attended the Universtiy of California, Davis and San Jose State University, several years later she graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco with high honors. Mary was a natural salesperson, she was friendly and talkative and ran her own company called The Personal Chef. She loved to teach other about cooking. She was currently employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Austin, TX.
Helping others was a way of life for Mary. Close to her heart was her work with The Settlement Home for Children in Austin, TX, an organization that serves abused and neglected children. She also worked with the Therapeutic Group Home Program that serves girls.
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00p.m at St. Joseph of Cupertino Church, 10110 N. DeAnza Blvd., Cupertino.
