May 25, 1953-June 21, 2013
Resident of Fremont
Bruce Alan Kieft passed into eternal life on June 21, 2013, at 60 years of age. Bruce was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in September 2012, and serenely passed away at home in Fremont, surrounded by family. He was an active member of his church, volunteered for charitable foundations, and was a dedicated fan of the Golden State Warriors and the Oakland Athletics. Bruce was a valuable employee of HP (previously Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq) for 34 years, and spent the last 3 years of his working career at Abaxis, Inc. Through everything he accomplished, Bruce was always recognized as a hardworking team-player and known for exemplifying integrity, positivity, and humor.
Bruce was born on May 25, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to Alfred and Betty Jane Kieft. He is survived by his wife, Alison Kieft of Fremont, daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Michael Kolbe of Concord, sister, LuAnn Kresevich of San Ramon, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stacy and Deb Thompson of Concord, and nieces and nephews Keri Hallin, Jimmy Kresevich, Glenn Thompson, and Kaitlin Thompson.
In mid-July, an uplifting, fun-filled Celebration of Life was held in Bruce's honor at Niles Discovery Church in Fremont. Bruce requested that any donations be given to the Angel Fund at Niles Discovery Church, to benefit the church remodel that Bruce and others worked so hard to coordinate. Please send donations to: Niles Discovery Church, P.O. Box 2265 Fremont, CA 94536. Checks should be made out to: "Niles Discovery Church Angel Fund."
