Anita Rae Hamm passed away on Aug. 9 after a 5 month battle with lung cancer. Anita was originally from Saskatchewan, Canada and relocated from Vancouver, British Columbia to San Jose, Calif. in 1960.
Anita enjoyed needlepoint, crossword puzzles, her second home in Carmel and attending the San Jose Symphony for many years. She also loved visiting her dear friends at the Boulanger on Lincoln Ave over the years.
She is survived by her daughters Tracy Bezmalinovic (John) of Fresno, Calif. and Christine Johnson of Oak Park, Calif. She also leaves behind three grand-daughters Samantha Martinez, Sierra Johnson and Mia Bezmalinovic.
Anita is survived by her sisters Linda Fast (Henry), Ellie Ewert (Henry), Dora Schulz (Henry) all of British Columbia, Canada. She is also survived by brothers Walter Koehn (Tina) of Prescott, AZ. and Ernie Koehn (Clara) of Canada and numerous nieces and nephews in Calif. and Canada. She is pre-deceased by her parents Henry and Maria Koehn, siblings Arthur Koehn and Loretta Dyck of British Columbia, Canada, and also by her long-time companion Lester Bugbee of Saratoga, Calif.
At Anita's request, no services will be held. Her family will hold a private celebration of her life in Carmel, Calif. where her ashes will be scattered at sea.
