James T. Digilio|
Sept. 15, 1934 - Dec. 2, 2013
Resident of Bakersfield
James T. Digilio passed peacefully on December 2, 2013 with his wife/best friend "Sue" by his side, his favorite grandson Adam close by on the phone and his dog Whisper at his bedside.
Jim was born in Omaha Nebraska to, Anthony and Dorothy Digilio. Jim was a proud Marine and served in the Korean War. Upon his return home to the United States Jim relocated to San Francisco. While working full time for the San Francisco Chronicle and then as a Teamster Jims entrepreneurial spirit kept him busy, finally culminating in his great success and pride as owner of Goldeneye Trucking.
Jim loved football and baseball "Go Big Red, Niners and SF Giants". He was an avid duck hunter with his dog Coco as his partner. Coaching his son Jerry and later grandson Corey in Little League kept him young and on his toes. Jim was very proud of his nephew Sam's growth and accomplishments as a young man.
Jim and Sue's adventures in Las Vegas and Laughlin winning and losing brought stories of laughter home to family and friends alike. Although Jim did not tolerate liars he was successful at Liars Dice to the dismay of those who challenged him.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brother Samuel (Omaha) and his idol and mentor Uncle Jim. He is survived by his loving wife Sue, sister Kate, brother Sonny, daughters Vita (Robert), Catherine (Rico), Betty June (Micaela), Lori (Jeremy) sons Rocco (Debbie), Jimmy (Lori) and Jerry (Mary), grandchildren and a great grandchild and many nieces and newphews.
