Patten H. Maximoff Obituary
Patten H. Maximoff
Aug. 3, 1924 - Dec. 4, 2013
Resident of Los Altos
Pat's passion for music and writing were infectious and she always had a story to tell. Pat was born in Evanston, Illinois, and grew up in Kansas City. She graduated from Northwestern University ('45 Alpha Phi). After USO shows in Japan and Korea, she married her childhood friend Bob Maximoff in New York City, where she acted and wrote. Pat and Bob lived in Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia. Pat played violin in the Peninsula Symphony and quartets for three decades and enjoyed helping young musicians. She and Bob spent happy summers in her Eagle River, Wisconsin cabin. Pat loved her church and friends, and was proud of her recent books: Rights of the Heart, and Going to Nias. Pat is survived by her son Tim, daughter-in-law Kristi and granddaughter Anna. She was predeceased by her husband Bob, son Chris and sister Marjorie. Pat's family and friends will celebrate her life with a service on Tuesday, December 17th, 2:00pm at Los Altos United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Avenue, Los Altos, California. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Pat's honor to the Peninsula Symphony at http://www.peninsulasymphony.org/support.php or by mail at 146 Main Street, Suite 102 Los Altos, 94022.
