William "Bill" O'Hara Obituary
William "Bill" O'Hara
Nov. 26, 1929 - Nov. 27, 2013
Resident of San Jose
William "Bill" Homer O'Hara was born in Portland, Oregon. He earned his degree, played football, and met his wife, JoAnn, at Lewis & Clark. During his senior year at Lewis & Clark his football team went undefeated and won the Pear Bowl in 1950. After serving in the Marine Corps, Bill began his career as a teacher at Benner Jr. High/Sunnyvale Jr. High from 1963 until his retirement in 1990. Bill enjoyed his long summers at "camp" in the Trinity Mountains and playing cowboy with his many horses. In the later parts of his life, he enjoyed celebrating the athletic achievements of his grandchildren, eating pizza and drinking beer at Klondike's, and attending the San Jose State football and San Jose Giants baseball games. Bill is survived by his wife, JoAnn, and his children, Sheryl Driskell (George), Casey O'Hara (Lezli), Bridgett O'Connor, Clancey O'Hara (Patricia), Heather O'Hara (Andrew), Cassidy O'Hara (Lisa), and 15 grandchildren. His huge heart and smile will forever be missed. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on December 14th at 11:00am at the Lima Family Mortuary, 710 Willow St, San Jose, and reception to follow at the San Jose Country Club, 15571 Alum Rock Ave, San Jose
