Neil Schebetta Obituary

Neil Francis Schebetta, Jr.
July 16, 1954 - June 28, 2014
Resident of Saratoga
A loving father, husband, friend, all around goofball, and collector of all things free. Neil left this earth way too soon. After a gallant 15 year battle with cancer, he is now at peace. A man ahead of his time, a Mr. Mom caring for his beloved daughter, Amanda, and son, Nicholas. He always put his family first, making dreams come true for his wife, Judy.
You could find him every morning sitting on a bench, calling his friends to check in, with his faithful dog, Lucy. His enormous and diverse circle of friends knew Neil as hilarious, kind, optimistic, and he always "knew a guy" that could help them out. Neil lived his life on his terms and enjoyed getting the most out of every day. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Neil, you will forever be missed and loved in our hearts.

Neil Schebetta, extraordinary gentleman. My brother and I often reminisce about the good times shared with cousin Neil, wonderful memories. Absolutely a renaissance, one-of-a kind fellow.
Hope to see you when I come home to our Lord Neil!

My cousin Neil, "JR"! So many life lessons I learned from my big cousin Neil. He was watchful over me during the time I lived with him in his home in San Jose. Always good wisdom he tried to share with me; protective but not overly so. And the love of cars we shared. I remember his '63 Impala with reverse chrome wheels, slight rake, glasspacks, and 8-track player - what a treat for me when he would take me cruising. I think of cousin Neil quite often. He will always hold a special place in my heart and for my brother and sisters. He comes up often in our conversations as we riminess. I certainly hope to meet up with cousin Neil when I come home to our Lord.

I attended Hoover and Lincoln with Neil and was very sorry to hear of his death. He was a guy with a very positive spirit. We talked at the 40th Reunion, and I had no idea that he had been battling cancer. He will be missed. - Kevin Mallon

Neil and I were both only children; I consider him the brother I never had. We spent a lot of time together and I will always cherish those memories. Neil, I love you. I'm going to miss answering the phone and hearing you say "Hi Richie!" Thanks for being my friend.
