Former San Jose Resident
Raymond E. Jacobson died at his home in Reno, Nevada on Friday September 12, 2014 at the age of 92. Born May 25, 1922 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Graduated from Yale on full scolarships prior to serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Successful businessman instrumental in founding the firm of Anderson Jacobson in 1973 with the invention of the acoustic modem. Raymond was a well known pioneer in the telecommunication community who successfully designed and manufactured several telegraphic modems and multiplexers that were widely adopted in the industry.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Faye; sons, Karl (Kathy) and Michael; grandchildren Heather and Rachel; brother, James. Ray's son Chris, predeceased him.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Darling Fischer Chapel of the Hills 615 N. Santa Cruz Avenue, Los Gatos with a visitation the evening prior from 5 to 8:00 PM Friday September 19, 2014. Burial at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
