Lloyd Richard Swenson
Resident of Palm Desert
Lloyd Richard Swenson, 91, passed away at home with his loving wife, Hansi and his two closest friends, Carolyn Wilkerson and Marilyn Forant by his side on January 21, 2016. Lloyd was born on November 21, 1924 in Turlock Calif. Lloyd is survived by wife, Hansi Hughes; sister, Evelyn Templeton; son, Charlie Swenson; and three daughters, Debbie Watkins, Elizabeth Creencia and Zetta Newell. Lloyd grew up in San Jose, Calif. where he attended and graduated from San Jose High School. After graduation, Lloyd joined the Army Air Corp Private Pilot Program. Lloyd flew 61 missions in the 557th Bomb Squadron of the 387th group in World War II as a Second Lieutenant. After the war, Lloyd received his MBA degree and became professor of Economics at the Lindfield University. He was Co-Founder of Nano Technology Corporation. He was also a Presbyterian Pastor for 8 years in Santa Clara, Calif. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the Ramon Chapel at Forest Lawn Cathedral City, followed by interment in the Sacred Palms section at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Wounded Warriors Foundation.
