Graveside service for William "Bill" Stone Pruitte, 87, of Emmett, Idaho, who died Monday April 8, 2013, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Emmett Cemetery in Emmett. A viewing will be on Friday from 3 until 8 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Chapel.
Bill was reared and educated in Alton, Mo. He joined the United States Army in May of 1946 and he was honorably discharged in October of 1947.
Bill worked as a truck driver and owned his own trucks all of his life. He hauled wood products, cattle, potatoes and many other products during his long life as a driver. He was said to have diesel in his veins. He enjoyed swimming, hunting and even did a little fishing.
Bill is survived by three sons, Shawn of Emmett, Mike of Kennewick, Wash. and Mitch of Ontario, Ore.; three sisters, Kay Booth of Montgomery, Ala., Mallabelle Smith of Bozeman, Mont. and Onetta Woods of Phoenix, Ariz.; and 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his daughter,Paula in December of 1991, his parents and seven siblings.
