Arlene Janice (Morgan) Ward was born March 30, 1959, to Jack C. Morgan Sr. and Marjorie A. (Siler) Morgan, the fourth of five children in Birmingham, Ala. She passed away March 3, 2014, after a short courageous battle with cancer, with her husband John by her side.
Arlene moved with her family to Phoenix, Ariz., then to El Paso, Texas. After her parents divorced, her mother moved her brood to Urbana, Ill., then finally to Emmett, Idaho, in June of 1968, when she was 9 years old. There she attended the rest of her school days. During that time she met the love of her life John M. Ward of Star, Idaho.
John and Arlene were married July 5, 1978 and divorced one year later. Twenty years passed before John and Arlene realized their mistake and were remarried on Valentine's Day in 1998, settling on the old homestead, behind Firebird Raceway, with their children David, Tommy and Melisa.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a nephew.
She is survived by her husband John; stepchildren, David of Detroit, Mich., Tommy of Santa Cruz, Calif. and Melissa of Portland, Ore.; her brother Jack C. Morgan Jr. (Gail) of Baton Rouge, La.; her sisters Jayne Irby (Carl) of Emmett and her baby sister, Judith Ann Morgan (Ron) of Emmett; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
At Arlene's request no services were held, just a celebration of her life barbecue with family and a few close friends.
"Hootie," we will love and miss you forever. ... unless the pigeon shows up at our door again asking to be let in.
