Betty L. Skinner, 85, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away June 13, 2014, at her home in Emmett Serenity Living.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Inurnment will follow in the Emmett Cemetery.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1928, to Fred and Mary Lyon. On Jan. 23, 1948, she married James W. Emery. To this union three daughters were born, Linda (Don) Bray, Kathy (David) Brown and Julia Dykema. Later she and James were divorced. She married Henry Skinner, they were divorced later.
She moved back to Emmett to be with her daughters and grandchildren. She spent her time as a volunteer at Butte View Elementary School helping with their Foster Grandparent Program and enjoyed helping the children and loved her job. She was also on the library board and volunteered at the library. She loved to read books, and enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three daughters, 15 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family thanks Serenity Living and their staff for all the care and love they gave mom.
