Bonnie Jean Watson, née Bonnie Short, was born in Scotts Bluff, Neb., on March 9, 1943. She was the oldest daughter of Bob and Bernice Short. Bonnie passed away May 30, 2014, in Boise, Idaho.
After moves to Caldwell, Idaho and Burns, Ore., the family finally settled in Emmett, Idaho, in 1959. Bonnie graduated from Emmett High School in 1961. She entered nurses training in the fall of 1961 at St. Alphonsus School of Nursing. She graduated in 1964. After passing nursing boards, she started her 40-year nursing career at Walter Knox Memorial Hospital in Emmett. Her nursing career took her to Oregon, Maine, back to Oregon and finally to Seattle, Wash., where she retired in 2004.
She and her husband moved to Emmett in 2011.
She married Patrick J. Watson in February of 1975. She is survived by her husband, Patrick; sister, Wanda Kreizenbeck; niece, Ellen Hudson, nephew, Nathan Cassens and numerous grand-nephews and nieces. There are also cousins in Nebraska and Oklahoma.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church in 2009 and is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emmett.
A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014, under direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel.
