After graduation from Emmett High School, mom attended nursing school for a while in Boise, leading to work for Dr. Carver at the hospital in Emmett. She had many different jobs through her life time. Every one was a new adventure for her.
Doris kept active in the local community with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Emmett; she was loved by the Lord Jesus; the American Legion Auxiliary Post #49, in which she had held most of the offices and was active up to this last spring; and as a 4-H leader for many years - she helped many a girl learn to sew. Many still remember her telling them to rip out a seam or two. When she could find the time, her favorite pastimes included sewing, quilting, crocheting and reading.
Her husband of over 60 years, Harold preceded her in death.
She is survived by a loving family including Charles Beutler of Elk Grove, Calif. (her only surviving sibling) and her three children Don Holste of Emmett, Ray Holste of Emmett and Shirley Coughlin of Cascade, Idaho. She has two grandchildren living in the Reno, Nev. area, Ann Marie Coughlin and Mike Coughlin; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel and Johanna, also live in the Reno area.
Many thanks go out to the MSTI and St. Luke's Hospice care. There wonderful care and kindness is much appreciated.
Her family and many friends will miss her, but know that she is with the Lord Jesus Christ.
