Harold A. Swanson of Emmett, Idaho, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
He was born in Elgin, Ill., on March 18, 1932, to Charlie and Dagmar Swanson. Harold graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1950 and joined the Marine Corps, serving in Japan during the Korean Conflict
. He was married Natalie G. Hadfield on Sept. 28, 1954.
Harold was a hard working dairy farmer, who enjoyed being his own boss. As a boy, he was an expert hunter and trapper. He loved to travel, was an avid reader and enjoyed walleye fishing with his family.
Surviving are his wife Natalie; daughters, Ginny (Tom) Christensen and Valerie (Rick) Ehorn; sons, Brian (Sheila) Swanson, Dale (Kathy) Swanson and Bill (Pam) Swanson; brothers, Chester and Virgil Swanson; sisters, Judy Wett, Sylvia Dupree and Cheryl Hincks. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Perry.
A memorial service will be held in Idaho at a later date. Local arrangements are with the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
