Mildred (Mid) Carlock Gardner, 93, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at her home in Emmett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Interment will follow in the Emmett Cemetery.
Mid was born June 17, 1920, in Gross, Idaho, to Caleb and Mary V. Carlock the last of 10 children. She was raised on Second Fork Creek (north of Ola).
She married Carl Canaday on April 6, 1937, they had four children, Mary Ann, Neal, Carla and Michael.
They ranched on Squaw Creek (north of Ola) and were associated with the Ola Lumber Company. Carl died in 1962 and Mid later married Bill Gardner in 1980, he preceded her in death in 2001.
Mid was a real estate agent for 40 years in Emmett. Bill and Mildred traveled to Arizona in the winter for several years.
She enjoyed playing cards at the senior center and also with good friends, Jack Pesterfield, Alice Kincaid and Clyde Hunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles, Roy, Richard, Tommy, Otis, Gerald, Leonard and Elmer and a sister, Lena; and a son, Mike Canaday, son-in-law, Stan Kirkpatrick and a great-granddaughter, Karlee Van Leuven.
Survivors include her son, Neal Canaday; two daughters, Mary Ann Kirkpatrick and Carla (Don) White; daughter-in-law, Deon Canaday Budell; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jack Pesterfield.
