William L. "Bud" Harsch, 85, passed away June 3, 2013, at a local hospital. He was born to Cecil and Ela Mae Harsch in Riddle, Ore., on Oct. 23, 1927.
When Bud was one-year-old, the family moved to Fir Island, Wash. He lived there till he was 9 years old when the family moved Olathe, Colo. He lived there till he was 17. Then they moved to Tillamook, Ore. It was there that in 1953 he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Wilson, and they had three children, Russell, Patricia and Mike. Bud also worked in lumber mills.
They dairy farmed in Tillamook till 1963 when they moved to Emmett, Idaho,where they dairy farmed until 1973 when they bought the Holiday Motel and Bud also became the manager for Emmett Irrigation for 10 years. They sold the motel in 1989 and Bud and Beverly did a lot of traveling. They spent their winters in Arizona for 25 years. Bud was also an avid country music lover. It was his passion to play the guitar and sing and he did so for many years.
Bud was preceded in death by four sisters, Doreen, Esther, Annis and Leona; two brothers, Blaine and Curtis; two children, Mike and Patty.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Russell; numerous nephews and nieces; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Potter Funeral Chapel.
Bud will be so missed by all his family and friends.
