George Sturtz Obituary

Vigil service for George Stanley Sturtz, 80, of Emmett, Idaho, who died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at a Boise hospital will be held on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emmett. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Services are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel Emmett.
George was born on Feb. 13, 1932, at Clinton, Iowa. He was reared and educated there. He joined the United States Air Force after graduation and served for 10 years.
George married Mary Lou Brow on Aug. 2, 1958, at Tampa, Fla. They moved to Dallas, Texas, for two years, then returned to Tampa where they lived for 31 years. He worked as an electrician for many years. They moved to Emmett in 1996 where they have since resided.
George was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and wood working.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou of Emmett; a son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Mary of Emmett; three grandchildren, Georgia, Randi and Jack Sturtz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

To the Sturtz family, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I always admired Mr. Sturtz growing up. I remember him as a powerful man with a gentle demeanor. I am sure he will be missed.
