David George Kurtz earned his angel wings on Nov. 15, 2013, surrounded by his family at home in Emmett, Idaho.
The Guest Book is expired.
Many words could be written about Dave, but here are a few that come to mind: "The world was a better place" the day Dave was born on Jan. 21, 1947. He was raised in Tacoma, Wash., graduated from both Stadium High School and Tacoma Community College and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
"Great husband and father – a family man" to Elizabeth, "Beth," his wife of 42 years; their two daughters, Rachel (John) Ward and Gretchen (Wayne) Wallis; his four grandchildren, Paula, Harmon, Lucas, Jackson and his only surviving sibling, Linda Rollings.
"Steadfast and dependable" were important values Dave lived and demonstrated when you consider the length of time spent in his two careers – 17 years with ASARCO in Tacoma and 21 years with the Caldwell School District, having moved to Idaho in 1988.
"Sociable" to everyone as you would very likely find Dave chatting with friends over coffee or discussing the national/local news with anyone within hearing range – particularly those in line at the grocery store.
No one was a stranger and everyone was a friend!
"The world was a better place" the day Dave George Kurtz was born and while we will all miss his smiling face, heaven has received an angel worth his weight in gold.
We would love for you to help celebrate Dave's life at the Kurtz Family Home, 1978 Geneva Way, Emmett, Dec. 7, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Heart 'n Home Hospice / Palliative Care, Emmett.
