Bill Ivey, 87, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away, Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at his home. Bill was born Oct. 19, 1925, in Seminole, Okla., to Robert and Katie Ivey.

On April 25, 1948, he married the former Nell June Strahan in Modesto, Calif.
Bill was a hard-working laborer for most of his life and spent years working at the American Pipe and Steel Company and as a member of the Northern California Laborer's Union in Modesto.
In 1994, he and June moved to Emmett after retirement. Bill was an avid fisherman and brought home more fish than anyone could count to feed his family. He always grew a large garden for fresh vegetables and for canning. He continued to work hard around their 20-acre ranch as long as he was able.
Bill is survived by his two sons, Gary and Bill Ivey and his wife June of Emmett. Of his 12 siblings, one brother (Ray) and three sisters (Velma Anson, Anita Strahan and Jean Keener) are still living. He has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews in his large family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Katie and his son, Ron Ivey in 2009.
Final arrangements were with the Potter Funeral Chapel, Emmett.
