David T. Barenberg, 67, of Emmett, Idaho, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, of natural causes.
The Guest Book is expired.
David was born in Emmett to Raymond and Garnet Barenberg on Oct. 22, 1946. He graduated from Emmett High School in 1965 and then joined the National Guard. David married Joyce Smoke on July 22, 1967 and they have always lived in Emmett.
Dave worked at Boise Cascade and during that time he enjoyed being a part of the Idaho Timber Resource Council. His time spent with the council fueled his strong political opinions which he was always happy to share. In addition to working at Boise Cascade, David worked with Joyce in the business they started. Together, they built a successful business in which they worked side by side for the last 12 years.
David also had a strong passion for the outdoors, whether it was working outside or water skiing with his boat. His love of the outdoors led to new adventures riding his 4-wheelers and numerous opportunities to spend time with family and friends.
David's journey through life led to many long-term friendships and his kind heartedness touched many people over the years as he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.
As well as his many cherished friends, David is survived by his wife Joyce; children Jason and Lance; daughter-in-law Julie; and grandchildren Cole, Tristan Courtney and Cody.
Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
