Geraldine "Jerry" Dugger passed away at home surrounded by family and loved ones on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at the age of 85. Mom was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Clarkston, Wash., to Hazel and Walker Gruell.
The Guest Book is expired.
She married Walter E. Dugger in April of 1947. They moved to Winchester, Idaho, where they started their family. Dad worked for Boise Cascade and mom was a house wife.
After 18 years in Winchester they were transferred to La Grand Ore., where Mom went to work at the Riverside Cafe as a waitress.
Three years later the family was transferred to Emmett, Idaho. Mom continued to work as a waitress at the President Cafe until she retired in 1991.
Mom spent her retirement being extremely active with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There wasn't a bake sale or a youth auction that was ever in need, due to Mom. Everyone in town knew where they could get the best carrot cake and cookies when there was a fund raiser.
She took pride in her family and her home.
Mom is survived by her son, Walter Dugger Jr. of Lewiston; daughters, Jan Rekow of Emmett and Lynn Dugger of Craigmont; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was awaiting the birth of her first great-great-grandchild due in December.
Mom is preceded in death by her spouse, Walter Sr. and grandson, Todd Dugger.
Thank you the nurses and staff of Heart N' Home. We appreciate the care and love that was given to mom, as well as all that was done for us.
Grave side services will be held at the Emmett Cemetery Wednesday, Sept. 26. 2012, at 2:30 p.m. for friends and family. Services are under the direction of Potter Funeral Chapel.
