Hazel Marie Brinegar Lanham, 95, Boise, Idaho, died May 10, 2013, at the home of her daughter (Joyce), surrounded by her family.  She was born, July 20, 1917 in Jerome, Idaho, to Etta and Claude Brinegar Sr., a pioneer family from Missouri.
To find work, her father moved from Idaho, to Portland, California, Alaska, Washington, back to Idaho. Hazel graduated from Clarkson, Wash., where her mother's father operated a ferry across the Snake River at Wawawaii, where she met and married Rex Lanham, Sr., Jan. 5, 1936.  Four children were born as they worked in mining, construction of Sun Valley, farming at Cascade and Council and power line construction.  Hazel operated their Cabin Creek Guest Ranch in the wilderness while farming in Emmett.
Her passion for worldwide travel continued though out her life until ill health.  She was a lifelong member of the Friends Church, contributing to them, their Quaker Hill and church conferences.  She loved reunions and activities with her family, friends, kids and grandkids.  She was always there, participating in cooking, building, branding, painting and transporting to activities; world fairs, Disney Land, graduations, weddings and births.  She truly loved her family.  She loved to craft and collecting dolls. She was the eldest of a huge family, (five generations remaining) that always worked and played together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and one great-grandson.
She is survived by one brother, Claude Brinegar, Jr. (Betty) in Caldwell, her four children, eight grandkids, 16 great-grandkids and 11 great-great-grandkids and their families.
She loved collecting poems, stories and quotations filling several notebooks and journals.  One quote she loved "don't give the devil a ride, he always has to drive."
