Janet Walker, age 66, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at St Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho.
The Guest Book is expired.
Janet was born on May 24, 1947, in Emmett, Idaho, to Eva and Howard Draper and was the youngest of six children.
Janet married S. Blake Walker on Sept. 9, 1967 and moved to Kootenai County, Idaho, where she raised her three daughters and enjoyed the greater part of her life. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many various callings there over the years. She particularly enjoyed serving as Young Women's president and teaching young children in Nursery with her husband.
Janet delighted in keeping a beautiful flower garden and was always on the lookout for interesting rocks to adorn her yard. She loved music, singing and dancing and playing the accordion in community functions and roadshows, performing with church and community choirs and filling her own home with her beautiful voice. She received a liver transplant in 1987 and with her new lease on life she continued to be devoted to the joyful service of those around her. She approached all of life's challenges with a positive outlook and always worked to uplift friends and strangers with a kind word or a good deed.
Janet is survived by her husband, Blake; daughters, Valoree Hamilton, Tracy Barnes and Sonya Walker-Prindle; mother, Eva D. Pope; brothers, Neil and Boyd Draper and their spouses; and her sister, Lynn Sawyer. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many loving friends and family members. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
A viewing will be held in Emmett at the Potter Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. A service will also be held in Post Falls, Idaho, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 3 p.m.
