John (Jack) Winfred Hezeltine, 85, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away May 9, 2013, at home of natural causes.
The Guest Book is expired.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elsie Smith Hezeltine; brothers, Alfred, Wade and Bob Hezeltine; sister, Joyce Tyree; and two grandchildren.
Jack's early years were spent in Emmett growing up on a farm. He served in the Navy on a destroyer from 1944 through 1949 being honorably discharged. He returned to Emmett to finish high school and raise a family. His early work years were spent farming and working at the mill. Dad and his crew painted the old sawmill using several hundred gallons of barn red paint. He worked as a truck driver for Hood Corporation. His last work years were spent with Bechtell Corp. rebuilding the Cascade dam. It was at Cascade that he fine-tuned his fishing skills where he taught many a worm how to swim. Fish feared him and people loved him.
Jack is survived by his sons, Jack W.H. Hezeltine of Boise, Idaho, John C Hezeltine (Caroline), of Nampa, Idaho, Jim Hezeltine (Anna) of Cottonwood, Ariz. and daughter Jeanie (Art) Scovill of Marsing, Idaho; brother, Reverend Donald Hezeltine (Dorothy) of Weiser, Idaho and sister, Phyllis Houtz of Emmett. He is also survived by five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
