Joseph Michael Eisenbeiss was born in Sidney, Neb., on Jan. 15, 1937 to Bernadine and Joseph Eisenbeiss. The family moved to Idaho in 1939 and settled in Emmett. Joseph completed his schooling in Emmett and then joined the United States Air Force. Every day in uniform was served as a proud, patriotic American.
The Guest Book is expired.
After his discharge, he returned to Emmett and was employed at the Boise Cascade Mill. He married Vivian Helmick and they were blessed with two children, Kathy and David.
In 1968, the family moved to Cascade, where Joe worked at the Boise Cascade Mill. During this time, Joe and Vivian were divorced.
Joe was offered a good promotion to move to Wilamina, Ore., and become night superintendent at the Wilamina Saw Mill. He worked there until his retirement.
Joe purchased an acreage in a beautiful wooded area in Wilamina. He was an excellent carpenter and built a barn which he occupied until he built his home. He loved animals and had cattle, dogs and cats.
A beautiful woman, Lowella, came into his life and they enjoyed many years of loving companionship.
After Joe retired, he enjoyed life as a gentleman farmer. He enjoyed fishing and digging for clams.
Poor health plagued him the last few years. He died on June 5, 2009.
He is survived by his son, David and wife, Caroline; daughter, Kathy; three wonderful grandsons, Joe and wife Marie, David and Cody; two great grandsons, Michael and Hunter; a brother, Michael Eisenbeiss; and two sisters, Marjorie Blalock and Sr. Corita Eisenbeiss.
At Joe's request, no service will be held. A private family memorial service will be held later in August.
