Robert "Bob" Eugene Wilson, 72, was called back to home on Feb. 22, 2014, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho.
He was the oldest of three children born to Fred and Eleanore Wilson on Feb. 20, 1942, in San Francisco, Calif.
Robert spent his formative years in Monterey, Calif. At age 19 he joined the United States Air Force and successfully completed basic military training and the Jet Engine Mechanics technical school. During his early career he was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina, Castle AFB in California, Anderson AFB in Guam and Plattsburg AFB in New York, where he was promoted to Technical Sergeant and awarded the Master Mechanics designation.
In 1971, he met the love of his life, Nancy Joanne Howden, and was married at Plattsburg AFB a year later. Soon after Robert was deployed to Thailand during the Vietnam War when he received notice that his son, Gregory Wilson, was born. After his tour ended, he returned to the states and was transferred to Mountain Home AFB in Idaho where a beautiful baby daughter, Tammy Wilson, was born in 1976. Bob was transferred for a final time to Beale AFB in California and in 1984 honorably retried from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service. 
Robert remained in Yuba City and attended Yuba College and earned an associate's degree in Applied Science and a certificate in Food Service Management. In 1989, opportunity took Robert back to Idaho where he eventually settled in Emmett, Idaho, where he enjoyed a peaceful retirement. 
Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Wilson; sister, Carol Hendrickson; brother, David Wilson; children, Gregory Wilson and his wife Krista Wilson and Tammy Hart and her husband Craig Hart; grandchildren, Hannah Hart, Halle Hart, Ophelia Wilson and Liam Wilson.
The Wilson family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Schultheiss, Dr. Lopez, Dr. Hunt and Dr. Pintir, all of the nurses on the 5 South medical oncology floor at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, Chaplin Ruth and Tara and Dr. Schultheiss's office for knowing that caring for a man goes beyond treating the illness.
A Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emmett. Burial will take place at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise at 2 p.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers please donate in Robert's name to the or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
