Alan Brown, 73, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014. He slipped away to be with his Heavenly Father after dealing with many illness throughout his life.
Alan was born in Cache Valley, Utah on April 7, 1941. As a boy Alan was described as full of joy. He always carried a smile on his face, loved being outside and the ability to fix anything. These attributes served him well as a child and in his adult life. Alan had several qualities that were considered honorable. He could forgive faster and more completely than anyone. He always looked for and only remembered the good.
He was incredibly patient, having 10 children, you need to be.
Alan had many accomplishments in his lifetime, her served a faithful LDS mission in northern California, he attended Rick's College where he met his beautiful wife, Mary Kaye and after a mere six dates in six years, they were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 27, 1969.
Raising 10 wonderful children alongside his wife was Alan's greatest accomplishment. Alan loved playing with each of his 37 grandchildren and going fishing with them as often as possible. Alan had such a large capacity to love and to be happy, that others around could always feel it. As a final wish of Alan's he wanted the world to know he had a testimony of Jesus Christ and the reality of eternal families and that he absolutely and completely loved and adored his wife Mary Kaye. He considered her to be his queen, and he treated her as such.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Theron and Blanch Brown, brothers, Larry and Garth Brown and a grandson, Landon Bernard.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kaye; his children and their spouses, Bernadette (Duff) Jacobson, Ian (Alicia) Brown, Chantil (Travis) Gill, Cameron (Diannia) Brown, Hails (Marie) Brown, Garnet (Kasey) Myers, Kirstian Bernard, Alistiar (Andrea) Brown, Micah (Liz) Brown and Alana (T.J.) Skidmore, as well as 36 grandchildren.
