Alice M. (Thistle) Foley, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 23, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 40 years, Robert R. Foley who died in 1984. Alice was also pre-deceased by her son Robert R. Foley Jr., who was killed in 1968 while serving in Vietnam. Left to mourn her loss are her surviving children; Pauline OMalley and her husband James of West Yarmouth; Kathryn ONeill and her husband, Richard of Natick; John Foley and his wife, Lori of Georgia; Laurie Duggan of Texas; James Perry and his wife, Gina of Texas; Sheryl Johnson and her husband, Ronald of Florida; Edward Foley and his wife Linda of California; Lorraine Williams and her husband, Stephen of Westborough; James Foley and his wife, Leslie of Southborough; Patricia Foley of Milford; a sister, Elsie Macari of Watertown; and is also pre-deceased by her brother, James Thistle, and her sister, Joan Yokell. Alice had a deep love for all her nieces, nephews, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She has lived in Southborough for the last 50 years; was a GOLD STAR MOTHER, a member of Saint Matthew Parish, the Catholic Womens Club, and the Southborough Senior Center. The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 10 a.m, at Saint Matthew Church, Highland Street, Southborough. Burial will follow in Southborough Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 27th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Jen Duggan Endowed Graduate Fellowship Fund at the University of Texas at Austin, P.O. Box Y, Austin, 78713-8925. I was blessed to have had Auntie Alice as my Godmother,a sweet, caring person, who always made me feel special and giving the most thoughtful of gifts. I will cherish the memories of her always. Love, Jenny
