George W. Crenshaw, 83, of Framingham died on Sunday February 24, 2013 after a long illness with Parkinsons disease. He was the husband of Ruth (Monahan) (Wales) Crenshaw and was born in Vienna, Illinois the son of the late Hershel and Mary Ester (Hight) Crenshaw. George was a resident of Framingham for many years and was a retired machinist for the former Cambion Company in Cambridge, where he was employed for many years.. He served in Korea with the U. S. Navy and was a Boy Scout Leader with the Boy Scouts of America for a troop in Arlington for many years. He was also a former deacon at the Baptist Church in Arlington. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons: George W. Crenshaw Jr. and Robert Crenshaw both of Billerica; two granddaughters, Vickie Crenshaw and Michelle Crenshaw both of Billerica; one brother, Elmus Crenshaw of Brookport, Illinois; one sister, Flora Jo Larson of Rock Falls, Illinois; five step-children, Wayne Wales of Framingham, Sharon Carpenter of Corinth, NY, Elaine Zullo of Framingham, Darlene Collins of Framingham and Janet Ebeling of Framingham; six step-grandchildren, Nicole, Jason, Heidi, Eddie, Tyler and Sarah; five step-great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Bradyn, and Emma and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Zera Mae Brown. A Funeral service will take place on Thursday February 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Boston. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham, will be on Wednesday February 27, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Georges family is most appreciative to Eliot Health Care Center for the care they have provided for the past ten years.
