Joseph Correa

Joseph E. Correa, Ret. USCG"Joseph E. Correa, Ret. USCG"TOLEDO, OH"Chief Warrant Officer Joseph E. Correa, U.S. Coast Guard (Retired) passed over the bar on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at UTMC.
He was born to Maria and Francisco Carreira, April 27, 1925 in Framingham, Mass. He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie, (Lincoln) they were married in 1947.


He is also survived by his children Deborah (John) Sheets, Joseph Jr. (Debbie) and Marie (Robert) Richardson; sister Keteria (Joe) Taralli of Framingham, Mass.; grandchildren Darlene (Steve) Beaulieu, Melissa (Steve) Zervas and Cortney (K.C.) Fleitz, Jessica (TJ) Waller, and Crystal (Chase) Harmon; 10 Great-Grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son Eugene Correa and his sister Judith Schuler.


Joseph raised his children and grandchildren very strict but his 10 great-grandchildren softened him. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, and for this devotion to his country.
He retired in 1975 after a 30 year career in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard and was a Veteran of WW II and the Korean Wars. His memberships include: The Disabled American Veterans, The Retired Officers Association, The Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers Association, Maumee Fraternal Order of Eagles #2562, and Retired Eagles Activity Club, Jermain Park Shuffleboard Club, and American Association of Retired Persons.


There will be no visitation; the body will be donated to the UTMC, Dept. of Anatomy and Neurobiology.


The final resting place of the cremated remains will be Toledo Memorial Park.
