Wallace Bennett

Wallace Jack Bennett, 92, of Masonic Home Rd., passed away on Sunday, March 4th, in the Overlook Masonic Health Care, Charlton after an illness. His loving wife of 64 years, Billie Beth (Johnson) Bennett died in 2013. He leaves his son, Richard Bennett and his wife Maureen of Webster; his daughter, Deborah Curran and her husband William of Gilford, NH; five grandchildren, Jillian Sonkin, Chelsea Bennett, Kevin Curran, Christopher Curran, and Robert Curran; five great grandchildren, Cash, Samantha, Nathan, Oliver, and Wallace. He was born in Richwood, West Virginia the son of Jack M. and Myrtle (Persinger) Bennett. Jack was a graduate of Richwood High School and obtained his Bachelors degree in Engineering form Northeastern University. He served honorably in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Riverside. Jack worked for many years as an engineer at the Raytheon Company in Waltham before retiring in 1990. Jack was a past member of the Board of Trustees for the Shriners Hospital for Children. As an active member of the Masons for more than 60 years, Jack served as Worshipful Master of Alpha Lodge, District Deputy Grand Master of 23rd Masonic District, Eminent Commander of Boston Commandry, and Illustrious Potentate of the Aleppo Shrine Temple AANMOS (1990-1991). He was a great photographer and loved to travel and play golf. Most of all Jack was a true gentleman. His kindness and generosity with time was evident in every aspect of his life. Jack loved to help people and did so effortlessly, touching so many lives. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Calling hours for Jack will be held on Friday, March 9th from 9:00 | 11:00am in the chapel at the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am. Burial in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham, will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jacks name to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114. The Daniel T.
