Edward M. Cunningham, 85, of Framingham died on Monday March 11, 2013. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Motherway) Cunningham, who died in 1982. Born in Boston, son of the late Thomas and Mary (Burke) Cunningham, he was a lifelong Framingham resident and served in U. S. Navy during World War II Ed was a commercial mortgage broker for over twenty years. He was proud of his Catholic faith and was a former longtime active parishioner of St. Georges Church in Saxonville and then for many years of St. Bridgets Church in Framingham He served on numerous church committees and in many different capacities including as a coach, CCD teacher and food bank member. In addition, he was also a loyal supporter of Marian High School in Framingham, participating on many committees and fund raising events. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by five sons, Dana Cunningham and his wife Jennifer of Southborough, Bruce Cunningham and his wife Cherie of Bethleham, NH, Edward Cunningham Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Berlin, Jeffrey Cunningham and his wife Kathleen of Holden and Sean Cunningham and his wife Monica of Framingham; three daughters, Tracy Casucci and her husband Alan of Marlborough, Marianne Giorgio and her husband Mario of Mileto, Italy and Barbara Knipe and her husband Robert of Lancaster; one sister, Lillian Burke of Canton, twenty-four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by one brother and five sisters. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday March 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bridgets Church, 830 Worcester Road, (Rte. 9 East) Framingham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Stephens Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, will be on Thursday March 14, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
