Geraldine W. (Bairt) Cronin, 92, of Framingham, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at her home in Framingham surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Col. Bernard M. Cronin, Jr. US Army Ret. Born in Digby, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Clause J. and Elva W. (Dennison) Bairt. As a wife of a military officer, Gerry traveled extensively to various places around the world including Okinowa, Japan, Anchorage, AK & Bangkok, Thailand. In civilian life, Gerry was a licensed Real Estate Broker, and served as a manger of the local apartment complex, and as a decorator for a real estate developer. Gerry had many hobbies and interest including, volunteering for the elderly, the Red Cross, Christmas gift wrapping for the elderly at the Framingham Parks and Rec. Dept, the Former Cushing Hospital and Fort Devins. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino with the Framingham Park & Rec as well as the Callahan Senior Center, morning coffee with her friends at McDonalds on Rt. 9, lunch at Friendlys Restaurant, and visits to the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store in Framingham. She collected a variety of pocket books, but her greatest hobby was seeing that those around her were well cared for at all times. She is survived by her children, Pamela A. Devins of Framingham, Michael B. Cronin and his wife Jean of Franklin, Stephen A. Cronin and his wife Susan of Walpole, Kathleen E. Cronin of Framingham; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Devins of San Francisco, CA, Todd Cronin of San Diego, CA, Chad Cronin of Watertown, Brian and Emily Cronin both of Walpole. She is also survived by her sister Helen Blue of MN and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Horace Bairt, Alice Weatherbee and Claudie Mangan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, April 5, at 9 AM from the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham, followed by her funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd., Rte 9 @ Framingham Centre. Burial will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 | 8 PM.
