Howard L. Chitow, 72, of 26 Griffin Rd. died on Monday, January 17th in MetroWest Hospital. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Harriette (Miller) Chitow; a son, Stephen Chitow and his wife Elizabeth of Grafton; two daughters, Lyn wife of Andrew Oakes of Half Moon Bay, CA and Diana wife of Kevin Cooper of Norfolk, MA and three grandchildren, Holden and Harrison Cooper amd Talulah Chitow. He was born in Worcester and was the son of Edward and Anna (Robbins) Chitow. He was raised in Gardner and had lived in Framingham for 44 years. He had served in the Army for two years. He graduated Northeastern University in 1961. He worked for Bradlees for many years and for many years he was a Vice President at Marshall's Department Store in Andover before retiring in 1992. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 NOON on Thursday, January 20th in Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main St., Worcester. Burial will be in Holy Society Cemetery in Worcester. Memorial Observance will be held through Sunday Evening, Jan. 23rd at his residence, 26 Griffin Rd. in Framingham. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
