Kenneth D. Farmer Obituary
Kenneth Dale Farmer, 85, died Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in Marlborough, after a struggle with Lyme disease and Alzheimers disease. Born May 12, 1931 in John Day, Oregon, the son of Harry and Ethel (Simmons) Farmer, he was raised in eastern WA and ID. Ken served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked in the construction industry and was a resident of Sudbury for nearly 60 years. He was an avid volunteer with the Boy Scouts, Rotary Club, and the Sudbury United Methodist Church, among others. He played trombone in The Suburbanaires and in the orchestra pit for the Sudbury Savoyards. Ken is survived by wife, Betty (Beckett) Farmer; children, Stuart Farmer of Tewksbury, Vicki Farmer of Seattle, WA, Dale Farmer of Sudbury, Wesley Farmer of Edmonds, WA, Dana Farmer of Marlborough, and sister Beverly Allenbaugh of Ellensburg, WA. He also leaves seven adored grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Sudbury United Methodist Church, 251 Old Sudbury Road, Sudbury. Burial at New Town Cemetery in Sudbury will be private.
