Patricia A. (Greene) Donahue in Natick formerly of Brighton age 81 passed away peacefully on February 18, 2014. Beloved wife of 55 years to the late John A. Donahue Jr. Beloved mother of Catherine A. (Donahue) Hanley and her husband Mark of Framingham, John Quentin and his wife Cathy of Framingham, William J. and his wife Karen of Medfield, Amy P. (Donahue) Heim and her husband Eric of Natick, and Christopher P. and his wife Aneesa of Framingham. Cherished grandmother of Monica Hanley, Andrew and Patrick Donahue of Framingham, Ryan, Matthew, and Scott Donahue of Medfield, Dylan, Therese and Shannon Heim of Natick, Jake ,Sophie and Kaitlin Donahue of Framingham. Sister of Raymond Greene of New Britain, CT, Phyllis Russell of Bellingham, and the late Virginia Griffin, Priscilla Geremia, William and James Wallace Greene, Jr. Sister-in-law of Philip P. Donahue and his wife Marion of Marshfield. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Patricia was born at home in New Britain, Connecticut where she attended St. Mary's School, Nathan Hale Junior High and New Britain High School where she was a diligent student and member of the National Honor Society. Patricia continued her education at Peter Bent Brigham Nursing School in Boston . During that time she met her husband, made enduring friendships and graduated from The Brigham in 1954. Patients were blessed to have her dedicated and compassionate care at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton where she worked as a registered nurse for many years, retiring in 1995. During her retirement Patricia enjoyed reading, golfing, Scrabble games, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. An avid Red Sox fan, "Patsy" began listening to games on the radio with her father in the 1940's as a child, collected autographs from her favorite players as a teenager and followed the team faithfully over the years, jubilantly celebrating with Red Sox Nation three World Series victories. She was an ardent supporter of the Massachusetts State Lottery. Along with her grieving family and friends, they will miss her. Funeral from the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home 63 Chestnut Hill Ave. (nr. Brighton Courthouse) BRIGHTON Monday at 9:30 am. Funeral Mass in St. Columbkille Church 321 Market Street Brighton at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-7 pm. Interment St Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. Donahue may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
