Robert Jorgensen Obituary
Robert Bob Jorgensen, 89, passed away June 13, 2018 at his home in Ashland He was the husband of Ethel Marie Jorgensen who died one day later on June 14, 2018 after 63 years of marriage. Robert worked for many years as a graphic arts teacher at Keefe Technical School in Framingham. Robert and Ethel made their home in Ashland where they were devoted to raising their son Glenn Jorgensen who died in 2003. Robert was an accomplished watercolor artist, winning numerous awards in both regional and national shows. He was a silver medal reci- pient from the Allied Artists of America and was on the board of directors for the New England Watercolor Society and past president of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. He was also devoted to the Boy Scouts of America; an active member of Troop 2 in Ashland where he was a silver beaver recipient from the Algonquin Council and Vigil member of the Taunkacoo Lodge | Boy Scouts Honor Society. Mr. Jorgensen served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. Robert is survived by one grandson, Ryan Molander of Plymouth, MA, as well as their numerous friends made in their neighborhood, artist, Boy Scout, and church communities. A memorial service will be celebrated Thursday August 16th at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. They will be interred together in a private ceremony at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
