William A. Surette, 85, of Framingham died on Monday June 17, 2013. He was the husband of Elizabeth V. (Wronski) Surette. Born in North Providence, RI, son of the late William and Maria (Andrews) Surette, he had been a resident of Framingham for over fifty-two years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard and belonged to the American Legion. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a union carpenter and superintendent and was a member of Carpenters Local # 475. He was an accomplished painter and writer and wrote many articles for several magazines. In addition, he was an avid outdoorsman, but his major enjoyment was his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah Surette of Framingham, Diane Kelley and her husband Kenneth of Houston, Texas and Denise Dillon and her husband Robert of Norfolk; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Huckins, Michelle King, Amy Morgan, Connor Kelley and Taylor Dillon; one great-granddaughter, Iyla Huckins. He was brother of the late Arthur Surette. A Funeral service will take place on Friday June 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow at 12:00 in St. Francis Cemetery in Pawtucket, RI. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Thursday June 20, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
