Marlene J. (Burbank) Carbone, 68, of Marlborough, MA and Palm Harbor, FL, died March 5, 2014 in Florida. Born and raised in Hudson, MA, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Thelma (Carlisle) Burbank and the loving wife of John A. Carbone, too whom she had been married for the past 49 years. A graduate of Hudson High School, Class of 1963, she had been employed as a bus driver for the Marlborough Public School System for many years as well a secretary for Bruel and Kjaer. Her main and most fulfilling occupation was as a homemaker and mother. Marlene loved gardening, nature, traveling, wintering in Florida with her friends, her cats, going to the casino and the company of her grandchildren. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters; Janene Schwall and her husband Wally of Stow, MA and Suzanne Carbone of Porter Ranch, California and her grandchildren; Jonathan, Matthew and Nicolas Schwall and Cara and Amy Ledergerber. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 9:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at the Slattery Funeral Home, inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery, Cox St., Hudson, MA In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baypath Humane Society, 5 Rafferty Rd., Hopkinton, MA 01748.
