Michael C. Hanson

Michael Charles Hanson, age 58, of Framingham, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 after a brief illness. Born in Northampton, he was the son of Patricia M. (Tirrell) Hanson and the late Charles D. Hanson of Framingham. Mr. Hanson attended the Uni- versity of Massachusetts Amherst and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Plant and Soil Science. Michael dedicated his life to helping others. He joined the Peace Corps and moved to Costa Rica where he assisted farmers and provided aid. Michael spent the rest of his career as a social worker in the human services field, where his passion was helping teenagers. He was especially dedicated to his job and helped many children and families during his time at DYS and DCF. Michael also helped his family run Hansons Farm on Nixon Road in Framingham. Besides his mother Patricia, he is survived by his siblings, Thomas Hanson and his wife Martha; and Karen Hagerty all of Framingham. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kristi Daley and her husband Mark, Elizabeth Hanson and her husband Michael Tully, Matthew Hanson and his wife Jacqui, Kevin Charles Hagerty, Katelyn Hagerty, Kelly Hagerty and many great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog Jessie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11 AM at First Parish in Framingham, 24 Vernon St., at Framingham Centre. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, Framingham. At the familys request there will be no funeral home visiting hours.
